Princess Diana.

In 1981, a few months after Diana married Charles, she found herself a good tailor, Catherine Walker, who was 36 years old.

In the next 16 years, Walker made more than 1000 costumes for Diana, and did not disappoint her at one time.

Until September 6, 1997, when Diana was sleeping under the homeland of Allsop, Northampton, the black skirt he wore was also chosen by Walker.

Consultant Anna Harvey once said: "Diana really thinks," as long as Catherine is good, it's good. "

Walker is an elegant, well tailored, tailored woman's dress that shapes the image of the young princess in the eyes of the world as well as the traditional style of the British royal family.

Design

Influenced by London Fashion Photographer John French in 50 and 60s of twentieth Century, the photographer prefers cylindrical clothing and slender models. In her view, this shape has a sense of sanctity.

Coincidentally, Walker is similar to Diana's figure, both thin and tall. Maybe this is one reason why both sides are attracted.

By contrast, Diana has wider shoulders and a faultless body and body trained for a long time. She has also been trained in ballet, making her the Mousika of Walker.

Diana regards her royal tailor as a friend, partly because she can always make a perfectly decent dress - no matter how light and elegant the skirt is, she also does a good job of anti - lighting. On the other hand, it is because of Walker's low key and cautious.

She never disclosed to the reporters one and a half words. She once paid to buy a public relations officer in order not to let her name appear in the newspapers.

It wasn't until a year after Diana died that Walker called himself "Diana's private tailor" in an autobiography.

After Diana's divorce, Walker designed a series of provocative skirts for her, but her curves were not vulgar.

One of the most famous is the dress that she wore on Charles's coronation anniversary celebration party, the coexistence of sexuality and nobility, so that the royal family members were stunned.

In June 27, 1945, Catherine was born in a small village in the Calais Strait, France. From an early age, she was an introverted and tall girl. She always felt inferior for her figure.

In order to make her fatter, mother even fed her double white rice.

Her father worked in the wool textile industry, and often brought home all kinds of cloth samples for assessment. This is her first fashion memory.

She majored in aesthetics and philosophy at a university in France. She went to London and got a job in the French Consulate when she received her doctorate.

In 1970, she married John Walker, an English lawyer, and then settled in London.

The steady road of life took a turn for the next 5 years. Her husband died suddenly because of a car accident, leaving her and two young girls.

For the sake of livelihood and emptiness, she began to try to make clothes, like a gypsy in the daytime, carrying a basket of self-made children's clothes on King Street, and studying fashion design at night school in the evening.

Her first electric sewing machine was bought with the money she had won by gambling with her mother-in-law (gambling was whether she could quit smoking). Her first work was a sailor dress for her daughter.

With word of mouth, in less than a year, she has won a considerable number of guests and set up a "Chelsea design company".

She was reluctant to put her name at the door of the shop. She said, "if a woman dress designer does this in France, she will be laughed at unless she has enough skill."

It was not until 1994 that she became somewhat hesitant to rename her brand and two shops to Catherine Walker &Co..

Like old men's tailors, she thought that the conversation between her and her guests was absolutely private, so that they could honestly communicate with each other and design their guests' strengths and weaknesses.

Rather than displaying a mass production fashion series in public, she prefers to receive everyone in person.

The designer, who is serious in appearance and speaks softly, is said to have about 2000 customers. Besides Diana, there are also some famous names such as Queen Nur and ballet dancer Darcey Bussell.

"Fashion is fast changing, but it's always the same."

She said she wanted to design a fashion that "can give women grace, but not too cautious, but not poetic."

The custom made women's dress won her the 1990 Fashion Designer Award for women's fashion designer.

In 1995, the seamstress, who had been in the studio for a whole year, underwent a breast cancer operation. Later, she wrote lightly, "nothing but a hiccup".

When cancer struck again, Walker, who knew little about it, worked hard to train a successor team and kept the company's plan until 2012.

Today, Catherine Walker &Co.

Run by her second husband, Said Ismail, the lecturer at the Chelsea School of art became a partner in his wife's career after marriage.

In the lifetime, the seamstress, who started the design of children's wear, saw her grandchildren wearing their own designs.
