Magazine Forbes reported this morning that the latest survey report of Bain, a famous American consulting firm, shows that the total sales value of China's online shopping market reached 460 billion yuan in 2010, and the overall sales growth rate reached 102%, far exceeding the traditional retail sales volume.

The report also shows that China now has the largest number of Internet users in the world, with about 556 million users, of whom 34% subscribed to online shopping.

In 2013, China will have 715 million Internet users, about 40% of which will be online shopping, which means 100 million new online users will be added two years later.

The report points out that apart from Dangdang, a publicly traded retail e-commerce platform, has become mature in the Chinese market. The new e-commerce platform Jingdong (micro-blog) is also rising due to the holding of sunning, a large household electrical appliance company.


In addition, some multinational companies are also competing in China's online shopping market. WAL-MART's online shopping mall has been a success. Estee Lauder, the famous cosmetics brand, has become the most popular cosmetics brand in the online shopping market.

The survey found that among all online shopping products, books and electronic products are the most common products of consumers' online shopping cart, followed by cosmetics and clothing products.
