World Expo Taiwan Pavilion Exhibits &Nbsp; New Scientific And Technological Achievements "Yarn Wrapped LED".
The Comprehensive Research Institute of Taiwan textile industry has developed the light-emitting diode (LED) wrapped in the yarn to form luminous and bright body, which can be applied to all kinds of textiles such as cleaning team vests, bride dresses and other kinds of textiles. The market prospect is excellent. This new invention will be displayed at Taiwan Museum, Shanghai, World Expo.
According to the "Central News Agency" in Taiwan, LED has endless applications, and LED is wrapped in textile yarns to increase the application scope and added value of textiles.
Chen Hongen, a textile association assistant, said that in 2008, the textile institute first completed the prototype. In 2009, it formally wrapped LED in the yarn, and took the lead in the bride's dress.
Chen Hongen pointed out that the LED wrapped in the yarn is based on the commercially available flat mercury battery as the power source, the power is exhausted and the battery is replaced. The textile wrapped with the LED light source is not yet able to make close fitting clothes, and at most can be made into coats. Therefore, it is quite beneficial to the environmental cleaning personnel on the street, the need for outdoor activities, bicycles or locomotive drivers.
Chen Hongen said that in addition to security applications, there are even women wearing LED light source bra in Europe's nightclubs, which is quite attractive, and can also be used in various decorations, bracelets, bags, home lighting, and so on.
This achievement will be handed over to the design companies of the island to develop special applications for display at the Taiwan Pavilion of the world exposition to be launched in Shanghai.
Chen Hongen said that at that time, Taiwan textile will lead a delegation to World Expo to learn about the latest research and development achievements, as the renewal application of textiles and LED light sources, and also plan to participate in the Grand Prix of research and development in the future.
