Xinjiang Cotton Industry: New Technology Leader Has New Trends.

Xinjiang has been playing an important role in the cotton industry throughout the country. It is also the leader in the cotton production area in the cotton industry.

No, there has been a new trend in the development of cotton industry in Xinjiang recently.

Soon, a new type of packaging material widely accepted in the international market -- PET (polyester) monofilament and heavy baling belt will replace the commonly used wire and steel wire for cotton packing in Xinjiang.

It is said that using this material to pack the cotton, a package of cotton can save more than 10 yuan of packaging cost.

This is a great thing for Xinjiang's cotton enterprises. Although they only save more than 10 yuan a package, Xinjiang is a big cotton producing area. The output is large and the number of packages is large.

In this way, one is to improve the quality and technology of packaging. Two, it can also save costs for cotton enterprises which have gradually reduced profits in recent years.

It turned out that this is the cooperation between Urumqi economic and Technological Development Zone and Jiangsu Kunshan Li Tai Fiber Co., Ltd. for the development of Xinjiang's cotton industry. They have just signed a PET (polyester) monofilament and heavy baling belt project contract, which fills the gap of the autonomous region on the packaging.

The signing of the project investment of 68 million yuan, plans to start in 2008, the construction of 6 PET monofilament and heavy packaging products production line, early 2009 will be completed and put into production.

It seems that the cost saving of packaging in Xinjiang cotton enterprises is just around the corner.

Some people worry about cotton enterprises, and some people run for the benefit of cotton farmers.

Lv Shaoqin, director of the Xinjiang New Energy Research Institute, suggested that Xinjiang should develop cotton stalk and cottonseed resources, and use biomass energy conversion technology as a clean energy source, establish a biomass energy utilization base and develop biomass energy industry.

We know that last year Xinjiang cotton planting area was as high as 25 million 700 thousand mu, and the output of cotton stalks was 1000 million tons.

At present, cotton growers treat cotton stalks mainly by direct combustion and in situ burial.

In this case, the utilization efficiency of cotton stalk is very low.

If Lv Shaoqin's proposal can really be implemented, cotton farmers in Xinjiang can increase their income, and their days will be better.

Not only that, Lv Shaoqin said, but if the cotton stalks and cottonseeds planted in Xinjiang are used to compress compressed fuels, liquid fuels, charcoal, gas or power generation, the production of green fertilizers by using by-products of cotton stalk and cottonseed resources can save at least 4 million tons of standard coal annually, with an annual output value of about 10 billion yuan.

Increasing revenue can also save energy for the country.

In addition to these, there is a new happy event in the development of cotton industry technology in Xinjiang: the research and promotion project of "precision cotton film mulching and sowing machine" completed by Xinjiang Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Xinjiang agricultural science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Corps Agricultural Extension Center and other units won the 2008 National Science and technology progress award.

However, no matter how advanced the technology of cotton industry is, we must not take it lightly.

According to the analysis and prediction of plant protection station in Xinjiang autonomous region, it is estimated that cotton pests and diseases will still be biased in Xinjiang this year.

It is estimated that cotton diseases and insect pests will be more moderate and moderate in 2008, and pests will be more serious than diseases.

Cotton aphids are still biased, cotton spider mites rebounded significantly, cotton thrips, cotton bug bugs and so on.

In recent years, Bemisia tabaci began to occur in cotton fields in Turpan. It is expected that the Bemisia tabaci will still be biased in 2008.

The improvement of natural ecological environment in cotton fields has played an inhibitory role in cotton diseases. Seedling diseases and cotton withered and yellow wilt disease are lighter.

The occurrence area of cotton diseases and insect pests is about 20 million acres.

Among them, the occurrence area of cotton pests is about 18 million acres, and the disease area is about 2 million mu.

This can alarm the cotton growers. They should take precautions against them and strive for a bumper harvest year with pests and diseases.
